Baked Mozzarella Sticks Recipe

With less cholesterol and calories, these baked mozzarella sticks are crunchy and melting like the fried ones.  These are fantastic appetizers and snacks, especially for youngsters! 

– 12 part skim mozzarella stick – 2 egg whites* – 2-3 tbsp flour – 1/4 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumb – 1/4 cup panko bread crumb – 1 tbsp parmesan cheese – 1 tbsp dried parsley – **Optional - Marinara sauce for dipping



Half all cheese sticks and freeze for 20–25 minutes to harden. Avoid missing this to avoid cheese meltdown!Preheat oven to 400.

Silpat or parchment a baking sheet.A small bowl needs 2-3 teaspoons flour.In another bowl, gently whisk egg whites.Breadcrumbs, panko, parmesan, and dried parsley in another bowl.Sticks of frozen cheese.

Sprinkle flour on each cheese stick and shake off excess. Recreate using egg white and breadcrumbs.Place all cheese sticks on an oil-sprayed baking sheet.

Once out of the oven, flip the cheese sticks and bake for 4-5 more minutes. Be careful—they may burn or melt fast.Remove from oven and serve now.
